WESTMONT – Governor Pat Quinn today announced investments for stormwater management projects in DuPage County from his Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program. Today’s announcement is part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to protect the environment by modernizing Illinois’ water infrastructure, create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.

MOLINE – Governor Pat Quinn today announced at total of $54.5 million in investments for water system improvements in Moline and Rock Island. The improvements are funded with low-interest loans through Governor Quinn’s Illinois Clean Water Initiative and will create 475 jobs across both projects.

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Lisa Bonnett has referred an enforcement action to the Illinois Attorney General’s office against Maev LLC for releasing gasoline into a residential sump in Harwood Heights, Illinois. The Agency is seeking an order requiring the company to immediately control the gasoline release from the site and remediate contamination resulting from the release.

CHICAGO, IL –Illinois Partners for Clean Air (Illinois PFCA) is pleased to announce the launch of Shoot for the Skies PSA Video Contest, a creative contest open to Chicago area high school students in the Illinois counties of Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will. Students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 (public, private or home school) are invited to write, direct and produce their own Public Service Announcement (PSA) video utilizing their talent, creativity and inspiration to educate the general public about Chicago area air quality and actions to improve it.
