Drawn from samples parallel to those being tested by public health officials and following the same methodology, the new testing did not detect any presence of <em>Cronobacter </em>(<em>Enterobacter sakazakii</em>).</p>
<p>These new results reaffirm the testing conducted before the batch was made available to retailers and consumers. Based on both sets of tests, Mead Johnson can say with confidence that Enfamil Premium Newborn formula, like every infant formula the company produces, is safe.</p>

<p>In the late 1990s, Spanish-LC’s founder and director, Juan Guillermo Cortez, had a vision of making a difference in the burgeoning field of Spanish language instruction. “From day one, I knew that Spanish-LC would succeed due to its commitment to offering quality, well-structured courses provided by professionally-trained instructors,” says Mr. Cortez. “A decade ago, the Spanish education offered to adults by many other private institutions in the Chicago area lacked such a focus. Improvised classes provided by unprepared instructors were the norm in this market.”</p>
<p>Mr. Cortez sought to offer a different experience. Based on his years as a Spanish teacher, he developed a curriculum for all levels of adult instruction. Today, the Cortez Method, which is used in Spanish-LC classes, consists of several volumes of textbooks and workbooks for all levels of adult students. In addition to instruction, Spanish-LC expanded its services to provide translations and interpreting. Spanish-LC has also expanded its presence in the Chicago area. Today, it has three locations: its original Lakeview headquarters, an office in the Loop (which opened in 2004), and an office in suburban Palatine (which opened in 2005). Further growth is planned: in 2012, Spanish-LC will further develop its Spanish programs for children as well as specific professional fields.</p>

<p><strong>CHICAGO</strong><strong>, IL</strong><strong> </strong>(October 5, 2011) – National Opera Week will take place October 28 – November 6, 2011.  In its third year, this week-long celebration continues to honor the opera art-form by holding exciting activities and events throughout the United States. <strong>Chicago Opera Theater (COT)</strong> will host four events during the week, bringing back the popular “Pop-Up Operas,” short opera performances in iconic Chicago locations. In conjunction with the <strong>Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture</strong> and the <strong>Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University</strong>, <strong>COT</strong> will offer a free performance of Daron Aric Hagen’s “New York Stories,” featuring members of <strong>COT’s Young Artists Program</strong>. Directly following the recital is <strong>“Opera With a Twist,”</strong> a benefit presented by the Executive Council of <strong>Opera Underground</strong>, Chicago Opera Theater’s young professional’s social club. The last event is an <strong>Opera Scavenger Hunt</strong> taking place throughout Chicago that will have participants deciphering clues to bring them to the next opera-influenced site.</p>

<p>Analyzing booking and hotel pricing data from some of the most popular beach and mountain destinations including the Caribbean and Colorado&#8217;s ritzy resort towns of Aspen and Vail, the Orbitz Insider report identified five coastal getaways and five mountain spots where fall prices have dropped from 30 to more than 50 percent compared to peak season.</p>
<p>Within the list, some of the best deals can be found in Vail (down 56 percent), Barbados (down 53 percent) and Whistler (down 51 percent off peak rates).</p>
<p>&#8220;Shoulder season is really one of the best times to travel since you can find great prices and fewer crowds, in exchange for a slight dip in temperatures,&#8221; said Jeanenne Tornatore, Senior Travel Editor for Orbitz Worldwide. &#8220;Unlike traveling in the true off-season, September and early October offer a happy medium for these places, where you are still getting enjoyable weather but paying 30, 40 or even 50 percent less.&#8221;</p>

<p>Ravenswood ArtWalk will feature more than 200 artists, working in various mediums, along the Ravenswood corridor between Addison and Lawrence and adjacent areas.  A map will guide visitors to all venues.</p>
<p>New this year!  The RAW Street Fair will be located at Ravenswood and Montrose and features two days of live music, children’s art activities, art tents, food and beverages.</p>
<p>There will be a rooftop lounge and sculpture garden, film screenings, lectures and live performances throughout the weekend.  A free trolley, with guided historical tour by a member of the Ravenswood &#8211; Lake View Historical Association, will transport visitors from one end of the event to the other.  There is something for everyone at ArtWalk!</p>
<p>In a partnership with Chicago Artists Month and with the generous support of many local businesses, Alderman Pawar and Goose Island Brewery, the always-free ArtWalk is easily accessed from the Montrose, Irving Park or Addison bus and Brown line stops.</p>

<p>As part of <em>Light Up Hunger</em>, prominent buildings and landmarks across the country will be lit up orange for Hunger Action Month, including the Illinois State Capitol Building in Springfield, the PECO building in Philadelphia, a main fountain in downtown Orlando, and a Ferris Wheel named Big Eli in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.</p>

<p>In Illinois, more than 1.8 million people are facing hunger, including nearly 1 in 4 children. The Greater Chicago Food Depository is Feeding America&#8217;s local member food bank.</p>
<p>Feeding America&#8217;s recent study, <a href="http://www.feedingamerica.org/mapthegap" target="_blank">Map the Meal Gap</a>, found that one in six Americans suffer from hunger.</p>

<p>Prior to the workshop, couples will complete an in-depth, online relationship evaluation which covers nine key categories, ranging from communication and conflict resolution to  financial management and spiritual beliefs. The evaluation will provide each couple with tangible results and areas to focus on for improving their relationship.</p>
<p>During the seven-hour workshop, Hassey will address conflict sources and provide simple techniques and how-tos – via ground-breaking case studies, real-life success stories, open discussion, demonstrations &amp; practice sessions – that couples can use to diffuse tension/anger; alleviate and overcome conflict and other difficult situations; increase their feelings of love and intimacy; and improve communication for more open and honest expression.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CHICAGO (June 2, 2011)—An historic 127-year-old church and community center once at risk of closure is Chicago’s only finalist in the national This Place Matters competition, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation designed to recognize and support noteworthy buildings that are central to their communities.  There are cash awards to support restoration efforts for the top three finishers.</p>
<p>The landmarked All Saints Episcopal Church—the city’s oldest surviving wood-frame church—is at the corner of Wilson and Hermitage in the city’s Ravenswood neighborhood.  It is the focus of an ongoing preservation effort to restore its “stick style” structure so it can continue the myriad services and outreach programs it provides in its diverse community.</p>
<p>“All Saints may be a Chicago landmark but we are not a museum,” said the Rev. Bonnie A. Perry, rector.  “More than a testimony to an architectural style or an historical point in time, All Saints is a living, breathing, vibrant community.  We are saving our piece of 19th century history not just for its own sake, but so we can continue the 21st century outreach that goes on here.”</p>
<p>This Place Matters recognizes that critical intersection between historical value and current impact.  In the case of All Saints, that influence is local, national and even global.</p>
<p><strong>It includes:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>a food pantry that provides groceries to 325 local families each week;</li>
<li>a community kitchen that feeds 125 seniors and homeless residents;</li>
<li>an “Ask a Nurse” program that offers weekly health counseling to those without private care and helps train student nurses in community nursing;</li>
<li>a monthly farmers market-style food pantry at a local public school;</li>
<li>a youth mentoring program focused on life skills for low-income kids;</li>
<li>a social justice program active on issues related to poverty, public education and LGBT equality.</li>
</ul>
<p>Locally, All Saints also leads various community-building events, such as the Ravenswood Run 5K, an annual back-to-school donation drive and an Africa Bake Auction that raises $15,000-$20,000 each year.  And it organizes civic gatherings such as neighborhood discussions with local policymakers, education forums and local art shows.</p>
<p>The congregation looks beyond Chicago with its New Orleans disaster recovery program, focused on rehabbing hurricane-ravaged homes and restoring critical Louisiana wetlands.  And it crosses national borders with a global outreach program to troubled Renk, Sudan, which includes support for local health care, disease prevention, education and economic development.</p>
<p>Two decades ago, none of that was happening:  All Saints was on the verge of closing.  Its congregation had dwindled to a handful of families.  Its infrastructure was crumbing, and its purpose in Ravenswood no longer seemed clear.  New leadership and a dynamic outreach program attracted hundreds of young, active parishioners who have embraced the ongoing physical restoration effort, investing $1 million in the building since 2002.  This Place Matters could further that with much-needed source of restoration funds, and in the process help highlight the importance of community outreach, which remains a hallmark of All Saints, Rev. Perry said.</p>
<p>The National Trust has named 100 finalists from across the country in This Place Matters, with voting open from June 1 until June 30 at 5 p.m. EST. Individuals can vote only once during that time.</p>

<p>The centerpiece of the campaign will be the North American premiere of en route, a new theatrical event that unfolds as pedestrians walk through the streets of Chicago, written and performed by the Melbourne, Australia-based troupe One Step at a Time Like This and presented by Chicago Shakespeare Theater.</p>

<p>Both visitors and residents can embark on hundreds of unique urban adventures ranging from discovering authentic tacquerias in Pilsen and devouring freshly-made tortillas in Little Village; to going behind-the-scenes at Wrigley Field with visits to the press box, clubhouses, and dugouts; to taking a trot through the Art Institute to sniff out all the canines depicted in the Museum’s collection.</p>

<p><strong>Chicago Neighborhood Tour</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>Discover Chicago’s diverse communities with exciting half-day bus tours, guided by neighborhood experts. This summer’s tours feature some perennial favorites, such as Chicago’s Magnificent Churches and Taste of the Neighborhoods, alongside exciting and updated excursions to neighborhoods such as historic Pullman, Uptown, and picturesque Columbus Park. $30-$50.</p>
<p><strong>SCVNGR AND FOURSQUARE TREKS &#8211; FREE</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>SCVNGR and Foursquare, two free games for mobile phones, encourage visitors to explore Chicago’s neighborhoods while learning about the city’s unique cultural traditions. New in summer 2011, the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture is launching three new neighborhood SCVNGR treks in Wicker Park, Chinatown, and Lincoln Square to four existing thematic treks: the Explore Millennium Park Trek, the rock and hip-hop themed Explore Chicago Music Trek, the Explore Chicago Taco Trek which visits authentic tacquerias and affordable outposts of Chicago’s top chefs, and the Bike the Boulevards Trek, developed in partnership with WTTW, Chicago’s Public Television Station.</p>
<p>These offerings complement COTC’s award-winning Foursquare badges, which invite game players to recreate their own Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or engage in four other shot-in-Chicago film experiences to earn their On Location Badge; a Celery Salt Badge which sends visitors on a quest for the perfect Chicago-style hot dog; and the Chicago Blues Badge, which complements COTC’s Chicago Blues audio tour narrated by Buddy Guy.</p>

Brochures and information on Chicago’s exciting events and activities and multi-lingual maps are available at Visitor Information Centers where friendly Visitor Representatives can answer questions and assist in planning an unforgettable itinerary. The Visitor Centers are located in two of the city’s most popular areas: across from Millennium Park in the Chicago Cultural Center, 77 E. Randolph Street; and at the historic Water Works pumping station, 163 E. Pearson Street at Michigan Avenue.</p>
<p>Twitter concierges are also available seven days a week at <a href="http://twitter.com/explorechicago" target="_blank">twitter.com/explorechicago</a> to answer questions, make restaurant recommendations, and help visitors develop customized itineraries.</p>
