AP source: Sandberg not likely to be on Cubs staff

The person, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly, says Sandberg could continue to manage the Cubs’ Triple-A Iowa affiliate if he wants.
Rogge urges tough action by FIFA in bid scandal
ACAPULCO, Mexico (AP)—IOC President Jacques Rogge is urging FIFA to follow the same tough approach against corruption in World Cup bidding as the Olympic body took following the Salt Lake City bribery scandal. Rogge said FIFA President Sepp Blatter, who is an IOC member, has called him to keep him informed of the investigation into allegations of vote-selling and collusion in the contest for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

For the past four years, the New York Knicks may have circumvented NBA draft rules by conducting secret workouts of collegiate players throughout gymnasiums in suburban Atlanta, Yahoo! Sports has found. Knicks director of East Coast scouting Rodney Heard coordinated and conducted the sessions, three players who were involved in some of the workouts told Yahoo! Sports – including one May 2007 session that resulted in a devastating knee injury to Kansas All-American Brandon Rush (notes) .
