Looks like the Eva Longoria and Tony Parker divorce is turning into a battle. TMZ.com reports the basketball star filed his own divorce papers in Texas on Friday–in response to the papers Longoria filed earlier this week in Los Angeles.
Parker’s petition shows Friday’s date and was filed in Bexar County, Texas. With papers filed in two different states, it seems the couple is fighting over where the case will be heard. According to TMZ, Texas divorces can move quickly–all could be said and done in 60 days.
In his petition, Parker states the following as the reason for the split: “The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationships and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”
Though the couple reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement, Parker’s divorce papers don’t mention it. Instead he states, “Petitioner believes Petitioner and Respondent will enter into an agreement for the division of their estate.”
Longoria filed for divorce Tuesday after reportedly finding hundreds of text messages on Parker’s phone from Erin Barry, the wife of Parker’s former San Antonio Spurs teammate Brent Barry. Parker has since denied any physical relationship with Barry.
