CHICAGO, Ill. – Oct. 7, 2015 –
Internationally renowned pianist and Steinway Artist Chad Lawson will be performing his chart-topping work, “The Chopin Variations: Modern Interpretations of Chopin Masterpieces,” on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at 7:30PM at Piano Forte Studios, 1335 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60605. Joining Lawson will be violinist Elisa Cox and cellist Everett Hardin.
Lawson’s latest work has taken the classical music world by storm, achieving the No. 1 spot on Billboard Magazine Classical Music Charts, the iTunes Classical Music Charts, and the Amazon Music Charts. He has also been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, NPR and numerous other radio and television appearances.
“I’ve taken ten Chopin pieces and basically erased about 90 percent of the notes,” said Lawson. “I wanted to demonstrate that Chopin’s masterpieces could be as spell-binding in simple form as they are in the original shape he created.”
Chicago Magazine listed the performance in their Top 25 Must-See Fall Performances. The Huffington Post called “The Chopin Variations” “intricate elegance,” while The Charlotte Observer lauded the work as “Classical, unbuttoned,” and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette praised, “Classical music for people who hate classical music.”

About Chad Lawson
A North Carolina native, Chad Lawson decided to become a musician at the age of five. At 18 he enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, after which he formed the Chad Lawson Trio which released three albums from 1997 – 2002. In 2007 Lawson toured Europe and South America as the keyboardist for Julio Iglesias.
