Chicago – A 15-year-old boy identified as Troy Brown died after a shooting that also wounded a female Sunday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
At 2:06 p.m., someone shot a female in the leg and a male in the back in the 4900 block of West Iowa Street, said police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.
Both were initially taken in an unidentified conditions to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Baety said.
Brown suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Stroger at 2:43 p.m., a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.
No one is in custody, according to Baety.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
