MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Ball State University terminated head football coach Stan Parrish, effective immediately, the university announced Tuesday.
Tom Collins, Ball State director of intercollegiate athletics confirmed the staffing change.
“As we evaluated the on-field performance and the football program in its entirety, we decided it was time for a change in direction in the leadership of the program,” Collins said in a news release. “We have been impressed with the way our student-athletes have carried themselves this season. We have quality student-athletes, and they have continued to battle through a challenging season. We wish Coach Parrish the best as he pursues other opportunities.”
The search for a new coach will begin immediately, the university said.
Eddie Faulkner, Ball State’s offensive coordinator, will serve as interim head coach.
Parrish was an assistant football coach at Ball State from 2005 to 2008. He was named head coach in December 2008.
