Body found in vehicle on North Side

CHICAGO (CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM)  — The body of a man was found in the back of a car, wrapped in a bed sheet and duct taped, Friday afternoon in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

Police responded at 4:43 p.m. Friday to the 1400 block of West Rosemont Avenue and discovered the body, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

Sources said a person saw the body wrapped in a bed sheet and duct taped in the backseat of a locked 2008 Dodge Charger.

The car was towed to the medical examiner’s office because it was part of a crime scene, according to a Rogers Park District police lieutenant. The man, who remained unidentified early Saturday, was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:07 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

An autopsy is scheduled for later Saturday, the medical examiner’s office said.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
