CHICAGO (STMW) — A North Side cab driver who was found lying on the ground outside of his cab early Thursday in the Loop has died.

Angelis Kouzios, 62, was found at 239 E. Randolph St., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

About 2 a.m., a cab with a passenger drove past when the passenger saw a man on the ground outside next to another cab, police said. The man had parked the vehicle and was apparently having a cigarette break when it appears he had a heart attack, police said.

The passenger called authorities and an ambulance to the location, according to police.

Kouzios, of the 3400 block of N. Marshfield Ave., was pronounced dead at 2:08 a.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Foul play is not suspected and it appears the man died of natural causes, police said.
