Cabdriver robbed at knifepoint in Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. (CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM)  — Two young men robbed a cabdriver at knifepoint of his phone and cash in Evanston Saturday evening.

The incident happened about 5:20 p.m. on Saturday at Hull Terrace and Callan Avenue, at the southern end of Evanston, according to a police department crime bulletin.

The cabdriver told police that two men, between 18 and 20 years old, entered his cab at that location. The first one put a knife to the cabdriver’s throat and demanded his money and cell phone.

The cabdriver complied and the two men fled on foot.

The crime bulletin did not state how much money the two men got away with.

The two were not in custody as of Tuesday morning.
