Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Committee Releases New Public Service Announcements

Chicago 2016 announced today that starting this week, two public service announcements (PSA)—one of Olympian Michael Jordan and the other of Paralympian April Holmes—will begin airing on Chicago television stations. Chicago 2016 created PSAs from some of the bid’s short films.

The Jordan and Holmes PSAs were taken from Chicago 2016’s athlete endorsement film “Moments,” and tell the personal stories of these world-class athletes with ties to Chicago and their support for its bid. Additional PSAs based on the other short films will debut over the next several months.

Chicago 2016 recently completed 14 new short films that showcase the city and its bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The films were developed to help demonstrate the city’s passion for the Games to the International Olympic Committee’s Evaluation Commission, which visited Chicago in early April.

“We thank the many Olympic and Paralympic athletes who contributed their time and stories to our new films, showing their support for our bid and reinforcing Chicago’s deep ties to the Olympic Movement,” said Patrick G. Ryan, chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016. “Having athletes like Michael and April appear in our PSAs reinforces the support we have from the athlete community while giving the people of Chicago a glimpse into how the Olympic Movement changed their lives.”
