The Chicago Cubs today announced the 2010 Cubs Caravan will take place Wednesday, Jan. 13 and Thursday, Jan. 14.
The Caravan consists of two tours of Chicago Cubs players, coaches and front office staff visiting seven cities, six elementary schools, two Boys and Girls Clubs, Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a charity luncheon benefiting Chicago Cubs Charities.
The tour will also include stops at the Lincoln Library in Springfield, Illinois, the USO of Illinois and the Peoria Chiefs’ charity fan fest.
For the sixth year, the Cubs are working to promote literacy in area schools via the “Cubs Spotlight on Reading Program” in conjunction with Comcast Spotlight.
The program is designed to increase literacy levels by promoting reading enthusiasm and rewarding students for their achievements in reading.
The 2010 Caravan itineraries are as follows. Participants, when available, will be listed on cubs.com.
