As part of its ongoing mission to serve the local community, Chicago Cubs Charities today announced a $50,000 grant to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) in connection with the concerts at Wrigley Field this month. Overall, Chicago Cubs Charities will donate a total of $150,000 to organizations serving Chicago in connection with the concerts.
Representatives from Chicago Cubs Charities and AFC will participate in a check presentation ceremony at Wrigley Field tonight before the 7:05 p.m. Cubs game against the Houston Astros.
Working with City Council members representing the neighborhoods surrounding Wrigley Field – Ald. Tom Tunney (44th Ward), Ald. Helen Shiller (46th Ward), Ald. Gene Schulter (47th Ward) and Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd Ward) – Chicago Cubs Charities selected AFC as one its grant recipients this year to advance the agency’s local, regional and national efforts to end HIV/AIDS.
“Chicago Cubs Charities is proud of its efforts to help organizations serving the communities of Chicago,” said Mike Lufrano, vice president of Chicago Cubs Charities. “Thanks to the support of the neighborhood around the Friendly Confines and the thousands who purchased tickets to see Elton John, Billy Joel, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Vince Gill, we are able to make this contribution to help end HIV/AIDS.”
“Funding from Chicago Cubs Charities will help AFC make a significant difference in the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS,” said AFC President/CEO Mark Ishaug. “We thank the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Cubs Charities, Alderman Tunney, and his colleagues for enabling AFC to pursue a broad range of activities to end new HIV infections, improve the lives of people with HIV/AIDS, and strengthen government and community responses to the epidemic.”
The remaining grants will be announced at a later date. Musical performances offer a unique opportunity for fans and community residents to see top performers in an historic venue. It is also an opportunity to help the economy of the neighborhood and the City of Chicago during a challenging year.

I have a incredibly important for me question. My liver is suffering, and the most horrible thing is to carry on taking this blue pill…When I was more youthful, nothing was disturbing me, but now I’m anxious. Whenever when I swallow it, I feel a horror…. Well, it could be nice if there’s a product for my partner as well :)) Thus, you’re my hope – what to do now?! I’m requiring for me and for all my male-friends. Thank you ahead of time, I have a preference to not to discover my real person’s name.
