Chicago – Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has delivered his annual state of the city address and some say it sounded like he’s going to run for a seventh term in February.
During the speech Wednesday, Daley talked about improvements he believes are necessary for job growth in Chicago.
Daley announced a privately-funded program he called the “Chicago Growth Accelerator” that is aimed at bringing more jobs to Chicago. He says the program will be aimed at attracting to the city businesses focused on technology, bio-sciences and manufacturing.
Daley also said he won’t rule out cutting services “permanently or for a year or two” to balance next year’s budget.
After the speech, Alderman Latasha Thomas said everything Daley said had future goals attached to it, adding he sounded like a politician who will seek re-election.
