Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is nominating a former Englewood resident as the new president of the Chicago Housing Authority Board.
The mayor appointed businessman James Reynolds, Jr. to the board Friday.
Kellie O’Connell-Miller is the spokeswoman for the Chicago Housing Authority Board.
She says Reynolds will be a great asset to the board.
O’CONNELL-MILLER: He’s from Chicago; He’s native to Chicago. he grew up in Englewood and has served on numerous board such as the urban league so he understands the need in communities and what it takes to make them viable.
Reynolds still needs city council approval to become chairman of the board.
Reynolds is the co-founder and CEO of the Loop Capital Markets investment firm based in Chicago.
