CHICAGO (CBS/CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM) ― Four people were wounded in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in the West Englewood neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 10:40 p.m. on Damen Avenue just south of 71st Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The victims were outside when a male in a passing vehicle opened fire, a police News Affairs release said.
A 20-year-old man was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, a 19-year-old woman was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital with an unidentified gunshot wound, and a 21-year-old man was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The fourth victim, a 30-year-old man, suffered a graze wound to the shoulder and refused treatment, police said.
Fire officials said some of the victims may have ended up at Stroger Hospital of Cook County.
No one was in custody early Wednesday, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
Wentworth Area Chicago Police detectives are investigating the shooting.
