Film “Between the Folds” highlights the blend of science and art in modern-day paper folding
Paper folding workshop teaches techniques to make holiday ornaments
Think origami is just paper planes and cranes? Come see the FREE film “Between the Folds” at the Claudia Cassidy Theater in the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington Street) Nov. 28 from 2 to 4:15pm.
The film follows a determined group of theoretical scientists and fine artists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at graduate degrees to forge new lives as modern-day paper folders.

Together they reinterpret the world in paper, creating a wild mix of sensibilities toward art, science, creativity, and meaning.
Following the film, learn paper folding techniques and make holiday ornaments for the holiday season during a paper folding workshop lead by Jean Mishima, the President of the Chicago Japanese American Historical Society.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served.
