MCHENRY, Ill. (AP) — A year-old Illinois company that promotes healthier snack items for vending machines says business has grown 400 percent.

Healthy U in McHenry counts Hyatt Regency Chicago and the Chicago Academy for the Arts among its most recent clients.

The company sells snack item alternatives including baked, not fried, potato chips, nutrition bars and fruit-flavored waters.

Its Chicago-area locations have grown from eight to more than 40. These include several schools in the northern suburbs.

A Hyatt Regency spokesman says the hotel partnered with Healthy U to provide a healthier workplace environment for its employees.
