FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A second man charged in the hit-and-run crash that killed two British businessmen is now in custody.
Jail records show that 35-year-old Ryan LeVin of Hoffman Estates, Ill., was arrested Tuesday. He’s being held at the Broward County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving vehicular homicide and failing to remain at the scene of a crash involving death.
He was also charged Wednesday with out-of-state parole violation.
Authorities say LeVin owns the Porsche involved in the February 2009 crash. His attorney says there is no evidence that shows his client was the driver.
LeVin has said 38-year-old Derek Cook was driving the car. Cook surrendered to authorities on Monday. He’s charged with felony counts of accessory after the fact and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
