An unidentified man was shot and killed early this morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, officials said.
The man, who officials said was believed to be in his 30s, was found shot in his chest about 2:30 a.m. in the 400 block of North St. Louis Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at 3:06 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Chicago police said no one was in custody. Harrison Area detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
