United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a McLaughlin woman charged with larceny was sentenced on July 16, 2012, by United States District Judge Charles B. Kornmann. Gorgianna Mae Hepperle, age 21, was sentenced to three years of probation, $1291.48 in restitution, and $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.
Hepperle was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 11, 2011. In March 2012, Gorgianna Hepperle pled guilty to stealing money from the Farmer’s Union Cooperative Cenex Store in McLaughlin, South Dakota, between May and June 2010 when she was working as a store clerk.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Mikal Hanson prosecuted the case.
