Metra train strikes pedestrian in suburbs

BARTLETT, Ill. (CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM) — A Metra Milwaukee District West line train is stopped after striking a pedestrian in the northwest suburbs on Monday morning.

Train No. 2232, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 11:43 a.m. struck a pedestrian about 10:40 a.m. and was stopped between the Bartlett and Hanover Park stations as of 11:35 a.m., according to Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.

Gillis said he did not believe the accident occurred at a grade crossing, but was uncertain of the exact location. A spokeswoman for the Bartlett police did know the exact location of the crash, but said Bartlett officers were on the scene.
