Nationals Troll Cubs on Twitter During, After Game 2 Win

The Washington Nationals may have beaten the Chicago Cubs on the field on Saturday night, but their Twitter account also had a field day trolling the defending champions.

The Nationals, who scored five runs in the eighth inning of the game to pick up a 6-3 win over the Cubs in Game 2 of the NLDS, got their trolling game going early, as they mocked Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo for striking out in the first inning:

Bryant stroked a double in his next at-bat, and Rizzo hit a two-run homer, thus giving this round in the troll wars to the Cubs. After the Nationals won the game however, they fired another salvo at the Cubs by stealing their signature tagline:

That one was better, but a little too on the nose, as the Nationals allegedly were confiscating “W” flags from Cubs fans prior to Game 2 of the series on Saturday night.

Finally, the Nationals had one last parting shot for the Cubs, who will now head back to Wrigley Field with the series tied at 1-1:

We’ll give the Nationals that one, as “It was 3-to-1” jokes are a great source of meme material.
