CHICAGO (WBBM) — A Chicago Police commander is accused of making telephone threats against another police officer , a man she used to date.
Newsradio 780 has learned the Independent Police Review Authority is investigating allegations that 11th District Commander Penelope Trahanas made telephone threats.
IPRA spokesman Curtis Tarver would not confirm the name but he says IPRA is investigating allegations of a domestic violence against a commander.
A source tells Newsradio 780 that Commander Trahanas is accused by another officer, a man she used to date, of making telephone threats.
The source says there is an order of protection against Commander Trahanas.
A police spokesman says Commander Trahanas is still on active duty which means she can still carry a gun.
Newsradio 780 has tried without success to reach the commander.
