Police seek woman who has been missing since January

CHICAGO (CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM) — Chicago police have issued a missing person’s alert for a South Side woman who may be depressed.

Rene M. Harvey was last seen January 15 according to family members, the alert said.

When the apartment in which she lived in the 5000 block of South Michigan Avenue was searched, it was discovered that she had unopened mail dating back to March 13, 2010. The apartment was still decorated with Christmas decorations as well, the alert said.

Harvey is an African-American, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and a medium complexion, the alert said. She has black hair which is worn in braids and her ears are pierced.

The release said Harvey keeps to herself and has no friends. She reportedly likes to walk along the lake front.  She also gambles and frequents casinos in East Chicago, the alert said.
