AURORA (WBBM) — Dozens of people are having their heads shaved Sunday in one western suburb to help fight cancer.
It’s the annual Aurora St. Baldrick’s event. David Adams is an Aurora police officer, organizer of this year’s fundraiser and once again, a willing participant.
“It’s one of the worst things ever to see any child going through the pain. And I can’t imagine what parents have to go through. But all the children show such courage and strength,” Adams said.
St. Baldrick is the largest head-shaving event, and the proceeds benefit childhood cancer research.
Organizers say the goal Sunday is to raise about $30,000.
The St. Baldrick’s fundraiser takes place Sunday from 1-6 p.m. at Mike and Denises, 1760 N. Farnsworth Avenue, Aurora, IL 60505.
