Six Flags Great America in Gurnee is hoping to hire more than 1,000 employees for the 2010 season.
“We’re looking for carpenters, lifeguards, landscapers, guest services and food management,” said spokeswoman Jennifer Savage.
The park already has hired 2,200 seasonal workers and is looking for more.
“We started hiring in March and we’re about half way through the process,” added Savage.
And at a time when so many people are out of work Savage says it’s refreshing to know they have the jobs to offer.
“Hundreds are coming in looking for work. Some are high school kids, others are teachers looking for a second income,” said Savage.
More than 400 people came out to the first job fair, 300 more this week.
Two more job fairs will be held on April 6th and April 20th. Applicants can also go online at the Six Flags employment site.
Opening day is April 24th.
