Stahl Cowen closes three private equity fundraising deals

The Business Law and Transactions attorneys at Stahl Cowen Crowley Addis, LLC successfully closed three recent private equity fundraising deals. Two of the projects involved sizable apartment complexes, the first in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, Illinois, and the second near the lakefront in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with capital deployed to acquire, rehabilitate and operate the properties. The capital raised relied upon Regulation D exemptions under the Securities Act of 1933, a frequently used technique to raise funds in private offerings. Rob Mintz and Elizabeth O’Brien worked cohesively to effect the projects and to ensure compliance with Regulation D requirements. In another recent transaction, Rob and Elizabeth assisted a residential housing developer to raise a third tranche of funds to acquire distressed real estate. Distressed properties represent a large component of today’s real estate marketplace. The developer/client has skillfully applied the capital raised to opportunistically purchase, rehabilitate and then sell a great number of single family homes in the Greater Chicagoland area. Rob, Elizabeth and Stahl Cowen’s other Business Law and Transaction attorneys regularly advise clients on capital raising strategies and implementation through their deep contacts and resources.
