CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – A guilty plea is expected today from one of the four former students at Carmel High School accused of assaulting a younger student.
I-Team 8 broke this story back in February and has been following ever since.
Scott Laskowski is expected in a Hamilton County courtroom today.
According to court records, a change of plea hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
Laskowski is expected to plead guilty to misdemeanor criminal reckless charges.
A judge is expected to hand down a sentence today.
Laskowski, Robert Kitzinger, Brandon Hodge, and Oscar Faladon are all accused of assaulting a 15-year-old in the locker room at Carmel High School and on a bus as Carmel’s basketball team was heading back from an away game.
Now, attorneys for Robert Kitzinger have asked for the case to be moved to a different county.
Lawyers filed the change of venue request back in June.
They say there’s been too much publicity on the case for the former students to get a fair trial.
