Chicago – Village trustees in southwest suburban Tinley Park have voted to opt out of a Cook County plan to install a red-light camera.
Tinley Park has three red-light cameras of its own, and one trustee said the decision was made to avoid any confusion.
The trustee said enforcement of the county’s red-light camera would not be subject to the same standards that Tinley Park uses, and the county would get all of the revenue, even though the village would be responsible for enforcement.
