A woman died after she was struck while pushing a car on the street in northwest suburban Streamwood Monday night, according to police.

At around 7:37 p.m., first responders were called to an area just east of the intersection of East Lake Street and South Park Avenue for a crash, Streamwood police said in a statement.

Authorities said 29-year-old Aries Cobian, of Glendale Heights, was one of two pedestrians pushing a 1994 Oldsmobile sedan eastbound on Lake Street when it was struck from behind by a Toyota pickup truck.

Cobian was hit in the collision and taken to St. Alexius Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

No other injuries were reported, officials said. It was not clear if any charges or citations were issued in the crash, the cause of which remained under investigation.
