CHICAGO – Authorities in Chicago say a woman has died after being struck by a southbound rapid transit train at an “el” stop on the city’s North Side.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado says authorities got a call about 11 a.m. Tuesday that a woman had been struck by Red Line train at the Chicago Transit Authority’s Berwyn “el” stop,
The woman was pronounced dead at Weiss Memorial Hospital.
The woman was not immediately identified, but the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office told the Chicago Tribune she appeared to have been in her 40s.
