Construction begins Monday on two of the busiest sections of Chicago’s lakefront bike trail amid a plan to split the path for bikers and pedestrians. The work will center on the path from Fullerton to North Avenues and from Oak to Ohio Streets beginning Monday and continuing through August.

Charity Hosts Event to Pay for Officer’s Bulletproof Vests

While a Chicago Police officer gets their first bulletproof vest for free, they are on the hook for replacing them, and a charity event was held Sunday to help cover the cost of the life saving devices. The charity, called “Get Behind the Vest,” hosted a vintage car show on Sunday to help raise money for officers to purchase replacement vests.
