Chicago, Ill. — Sure, there are sales and bulk discounts, but there’s never been anything like Wedobo.com, the first website to offer weekly wedding deals.
More than 2 million couples get married every year—that’s about 6,100 every single day. But way before wedding bells ring, vows are exchanged and cakes are cut, there are invitations to select, dresses to stress over and cakes to taste.
In the end, it all adds up to quite a chunk of change—more than $24,000 for a typical Chicago wedding, according to the Wedding Report, Inc. That’s why brides and wedding planners jumped right in when Wedobo launched in May 2010.
Its motto is, fittingly, “Big Day. Big Deals.”
The original and leading website with weekly wedding deals, Wedobo helps couples create dream weddings on down-to-earth budgets.
Instead of spending tireless hours hunting for deals and sussing out savings, couples and wedding planners simply subscribe and have the opportunity to save big on a wide variety of wedding-related products and services.
Instead of exhausting web searches for the best deal, Wedobo makes the process easy—and a lot more fun—by offering one exclusive discount every day on everything from thank-you notes to wedding favors, videographers to bridesmaid dresses.
Wedobo was launched by Amanda Sudimack, wedding photographer and founder of internationally acclaimed, award-winning wedding photography studio Artisan Events, based in Chicago.
Wedobo (pronounce it wed-doh-boh) breaks down like this: WED and OBO. Wed, short for wedding…and obo, as in “or best offer”—and you can pretty much count on the fact that Wedobo already HAS the best offers, all from the best-of-the-best wedding vendors in town.
How’s it work? When brides, grooms or wedding planners (or Mom or Aunt Marge or whoever is helping to plan a wedding) subscribe at Wedobo.com, they receive a weekly email that includes “The Deal,” which describes the basic info; “The Proposal,” outlining the specifics; “The Small Talk,” which constitutes the fine print; and “Love” and “Icing,” a few testimonials.
Recent deals have come from Girl Metro, with savings of 50% on 100 custom letterpress thank-you cards and matching envelopes; and Sutton Place Hotel, for a honeymoon suite at $199, normally $399.
Like we said. Wedobo: Big Day. Big Deals.
