Through National Corporate Support and Local Associate Fundraising Teams, CVS Caremark Will Support Children with Disabilities in More Than 60 Cities Nationwide
CHICAGO, March 29, 2011 /CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM/ — CVS Caremark, through its All Kids Can™ Program, will be the National Premier Sponsor of Easter Seals Walk With Me in 2011 – its sixth straight year. Demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to children with disabilities and their families, CVS Caremark expects to raise more than $1 million through CVS Caremark associates’ community engagement and fundraising at this year’s events nationwide.
Walk With Me is Easter Seals’ national signature fundraising event that raises millions each year to help change the lives of people living with autism and other disabilities. CVS Caremark has provided nearly $7 million in support of Walk With Me since 2006, when the company became the national premier sponsor of the event and chose Easter Seals as a national partner in its All Kids Can™ Program. Of CVS Caremark’s Walk With Me support, $4.15 million has been raised by nearly 20,000 CVS Caremark associates nationwide.
“We are so proud of our long-standing partnership with Easter Seals through our CVS Caremark All Kids Can Program. Together, for the past five years, we have been dedicated to helping children of all abilities to reach their highest potential,” said Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president, corporate communications and community relations, CVS Caremark. “We are equally proud of how our colleagues continue to embrace opportunities to volunteer and raise money to support Easter Seals and ensure their services are available to children and families in every community.”
CVS Caremark’s All Kids Can™ Program is built on the belief that children of all abilities should have the chance to learn, play and succeed in life. By supporting Easter Seals, CVS Caremark All Kids Can™ is helping children with disabilities by raising awareness in schools and in local communities about the importance of inclusion, improving access to medical rehabilitation and related services, and creating greater opportunities for physical activity and play.
Through their support of Walk With Me, employees from many corporate partners — including CVS Caremark — help support critical Easter Seals services for children and adults living with autism and other disabilities in local communities nationwide.
Beginning in April, the CVS Caremark All Kids Can Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/CVSCaremarkAllKidsCan) will feature a “Walk With Me” tab highlighting all the CVS-affiliated Walk With Me events nationwide through an interactive map. To show support for Walk With Me participants, the page will also feature a badge that fans can post as a Facebook status update.
