Chef By Request wins Small Business of the Year and Best of Naperville
Naperville, Ill. (May 22, 2011) – Local catering company, Chef By Request, was awarded two business of the year awards by the Naperville Chamber of Commerce earlier this month and Best of Naperville 2010 by Naperville Magazine.
The caterer took home both the Business to Consumer Award for Small Business of the Year and Overall 2011 Small Business of the Year out of twenty-nine local businesses from the Naperville Chamber of Commerce awards dinner last week.
Certified Executive Chef David Miller, a Naperville native, credited his team with the honors. “You need people’s support or you will fall on your face,” Miller said. “We’ve survived the rough times. You endure, the business goes on and then you have a night like this.”
Neither Chef By Request’s customers nor competitors have been disheartened by the rough times Miller mentions. Nominations for Naperville Magazine’s Best of Naperville and the Naperville Chamber’s Small Business of The Year are chosen by the public.
“These awards mean so much more when the people you work for are the ones thinking of you,” Miller added.
The list of the catering service’s customers reaches beyond the borders of Naperville, throughout the Chicagoland area. The company regularly caters large-scale events, weddings and receptions at prominent local venues such as Danada House in Wheaton, Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, The Naper Settlement in Naperville and The Big Red Barn in Maple Park. Miller noted the significance of receiving the awards in 2011 saying “It’s a good year. To win it when we’re celebrating our 15 years is special.”
