CHICAGO, Oct. 5 /CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM/ — ICAP Ocean Tomo, the intellectual property brokerage division of ICAP plc (IAP.L) and the world’s premier patent auction firm, will offer a patent portfolio relating to real-time document adaptation and translation technology owned by Yahoo! Inc. at its upcoming Fall Auction on November 11th in Napa, California. Comprised of three US issued patents, the assets of this lot have been cited by major corporations such as Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and Nokia.
The available technology enables the automatic preparation and translation of a document while taking into account the recipient’s country-specific conditions such as time zone and language. Via a disclosed software application, content (e.g. time, currency value, seasonal or day settings) from documents such as emails or web-pages is extracted and automatically converted to reflect conditions at the recipient’s end. Unlike existing technologies where users must create multiple documents for different recipients, this technology allows users to create a single prototype which can be adapted and translated for recipients across multiple countries. A user interface is also provided by the patents so that original and modified documents can be compared and changes monitored.
“The estimated global market for machine translation is expected to be $7 billion by 2015 (1),” said ICAP Ocean Tomo CEO Dean Becker. “This lot should be of interest to search engine developers, e-commerce companies, unified communication providers, and web-based software solution providers.”
The expected value of this lot is $250,000+. It can be purchased immediately, in advance of the auction through ICAP Ocean Tomo’s Purchase Now feature for $750,000. For more information on the patents available in this lot, contact Dean Becker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
