Greg Jarrett Brings Marked Improvement to WGN Radio; Station Remains Near Top of Chicago Ratings Among Listeners 12+
The October Arbitron radio ratings released Wednesday show marked improvements for WGN-AM 720’s morning show compared to just one year ago.
Morning man Greg Jarrett, who took the seat in the 5-9am timeslot this past June, posted a first place 9.0 share among overall listeners 12+ Mon-Fri 5-9am, compared to a 7.3 share for the morning show in October 2008.
Similar results were seen in John Williams’ mid-morning timeslot, where the station rose to a 5.1 share among listeners 12+ Mon-Fri 9-12pm, compared to a 4.4 share in October 2008.
Among overall listeners 12+ Mon-Sun 6a-12a, WGN remains one of Chicago’s top-rated stations with a 5.2 share for 2nd place behind WBBM-AM, who rose to first with a 6.1 share as the baseball season ended.
Rounding out the rest of the top five, WVAZ-FM and WLS-AM are tied in 3rd place (4.8 share) and WUSN-FM falls to 5th place with a 4.4.
