Quinn Makes Four Appointments to Illinois Finance Authority Board

Gov. Pat Quinn today made four appointments to the Illinois Finance Authority Board of Directors. The new members include:

Roderick S. Bashir, Board Member

Bashir is the Vice President and Director of Human Resources of Service Employees International Union, Local 1 in Chicago. He is also a member of the Chicago Urban League and of the Coalition Black Trade Unionists.

Bashir has a Master of Public Administration from Roosevelt University.

John E. Durburg, Board Member

Durburg is the Executive Managing Director of CB Richard Ellis, Inc. He previously served as Vice President and Regional Leasing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc. Durburg is also a board member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and the Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association.

He has a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University.

Joseph McInerney, Board Member

McInerney is the Chief Executive Officer of Banner Capital Corp. and a board member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center and the Center for Multi-Cultural Communities.

He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

Roger E. Poole, Board Member

Poole, who recently retired after 30 years of service, was the Directing Business Representative for Machinists District No. 9.

He has received the Labor Man of the Year Award from the Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council, the Community Services Labor Man of the Year Award from the St. Louis Labor Council, and the Labor Man of the Year Award from the St. Louis Port Council.

The Illinois Finance Authority (IFA) is a self-funded, state authority that fosters economic development and job growth by providing access to affordable capital.

The IFA works in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, local government, healthcare, not-for-profit, education and agri-business.

On December 8, The IFA Board of Directors named Christopher Meister as the agency’s new Executive Director. Prior to the appointment, Meister served for two years as the IFA’s General Counsel and Deputy Director.
