MIAMI – Dwyane Wade’s preseason debut ended quickly.
Wade lasted only 3 minutes, 17 seconds for the Miami Heat in their exhibition opener against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night before leaving with a strained right hamstring.
He’ll be re-evaluated in about a week, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Wade limped off the court, then headed to the locker room for treatment. It didn’t take long for the Heat to determine Wade would not return.
“A couple weeks, I’ll be back and running,” Wade said.
It was Miami’s first time with Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh playing together.
