Jiyai Shin wins Evian Masters by 1 stroke (AP)
EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France – Jiyai Shin of South Korea has birdied the 18th hole to win the Evian Masters, shooting a 5-under 67 to finish at 14 under and one stroke ahead of Morgan Pressel, Na Yeon Choi and Alexis Thompson. Shin’s fifth birdie in the final round took her one stroke clear of overnight leader Pressel, whose putt to force a playoff then rolled agonizingly close to the hole.
Wie suffers heatstroke at pro-am in France
EVIAN, France – Michelle Wie has suffered heatstroke during the pro-am of the Evian Masters but should be able to play in the tournament Thursday in France. Organizers said on Wednesday that Wie went to see a doctor.
