Elgin man charged in shooting
An 18-year-old Elgin man has been charged in connection with a Jan. 7 shooting on the city’s near-east side, police said Monday.
Dylan Petersen was arrested late Friday after police executed a search warrant at his home on the 400 block of South Street, recovering a handgun and ammunition, police said.
He was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a street gang member and no valid Firearm Owner’s Identification. Full Press Release…
