Prosecutors appeal ruling on blood evidence in judge’s DUI

The trial of Circuit Judge David Hall on DUI and resisting arrest charges was derailed Monday when prosecutors asked for a higher court review of the ruling barring results of a blood test from the case. The move by the attorney general’s office means there will be no further proceedings until the 2nd District Appellate Court in Elgin determines the legality of last week’s ruling.

CHICAGO (STMW) — A registered sex offender who served prison time for the 1992 shooting of a 9-year-old boy was ordered held on $350,000 bond Friday after being charged once again with theft and failure to register his address. George Wyatt, 35, of the 6600 block of South Drexel Avenue in Chicago, is charged with theft and failure to report his current home address in a timely matter to the sex offender registry, a felony, according to a release from police.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW)  — A west suburban Naperville homemaker accused of hosting parties during which liquor was served to students of Neuqua Valley High School has been sentenced to eight days in Will County Jail in Joliet. Lisa DeLuca, 49, has also been placed on a year of probation and ordered to have no further contact with students or staff members of the school, said Charles Pelkie, spokesman for Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow.
