CHICAGO – March 31, 2011. Governor Pat Quinn today proclaimed April as Alcohol Awareness month in Illinois as state, county, and city officials gathered with liquor licensees, teenagers, hospitality industry executives, and prevention professionals to raise awareness about the dangers of underage drinking.

      CHICAGO , Nov. 14, 2010 /CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM/ — Working closely with the New York State Liquor Authority and its New York wholesalers, Phusion Projects, LLC, the makers of caffeinated alcoholic beverage Four Loko, agreed to voluntarily cease distribution of its caffeinated products in the state, effective Friday, November 19 .

Liquor Control Commission September Underage Compliance Report

SPRINGFIELD – In September the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 119 businesses licensed to sell liquor.  They cited 19 licensees for violations of liquor control laws.  Eighty-five percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers. This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) agents and local law enforcement officials and volunteers from high schools and colleges.  The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21.
