WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama’s top economic advisers are urging America’s major economic allies not to sacrifice economic growth to efforts to trim budget deficits. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Lawrence Summers, head of the president’s National Economic Council, said the president will stress at upcoming global economic meetings the need for balanced growth and strong reform of the financial system.

Handbag-maker Coach Inc. suing city

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Chicago, Coach sued the city of Chicago doing business as the New Maxwell Street Market and two people who have sold the counterfeit goods as well as one hundred others whose names are unknown.
