ComEd: 95 Percent of Customers Restored After June 30 Storm
CHICAGO , July 1, 2011 /CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM/ — Working overnight and throughout the day, ComEd crews have restored power to virtually all 145,000 customers affected by the powerful storm that hit northern Illinois on June 30 . ComEd mobilized more than 374 crews to repair downed power lines and damaged equipment and expects to have the remaining isolated outages in heavily damaged areas restored by Saturday morning.

Chicago Under Flash Flood Warning
A flash flood warning has been issued and will remain in effect through Tuesday morning. A flash flood warning was issued for Cook, Kane, DuPage, Kendall, Will and Lake counties at 5:58 a.m., according to an alert on the National Weather Service’s website. The warning will remain in effect until at least 11 a.m. A flash flood warning means flooding is imminent or occurring, the weather service website said. People near creeks and streams should take immediate action to protect themselves and should not drive across flooded areas. National Weather Service radar estimates between one and three inches of rain have fallen overnight from portions of Kendall County through Chicago’s south suburbs, the weather service said.
