Quinn budget heavy on borrowing, but no tax details
Gov. Pat Quinn on Wednesday will outline a budget plan that calls for borrowing more than $4 billion, cutting about $2 billion in spending and still leaving a mountain of unpaid bills by the end of the next budget year.
“Those are real numbers, they are not doomsday numbers,” Quinn budget director David Vaught said Tuesday. “They are numbers we are going to implement in this budget.
Quinn also is expected to renew his call for more state revenues, although aides refused to provide details of any potential tax increase proposal during a news media briefing Tuesday night. Full Press Release…
