University of Chicago sending second round of medical teams for Haitian relief effort
Three more teams from the University of Chicago Medical Center — a total of 22 people — will fly to Santo Domingo on Saturday, Sunday and Thursday to provide continued health care for the people of Haiti.
A team of four plastic and reconstructive surgeons from the Medical Center will leave Chicago on Saturday, Feb. 6, for a pre-arranged week-long humanitarian visit to Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic.
Although it typically focuses on children with birth defects in the biannual trips, this year the team expects to perform reconstructive surgery for patients flown in from Haitian clinics. Full Press Release…
