Police look for missing Lane Tech student
Police asked for the public’s help this evening in finding a 16-year-old boy missing from the South Side for a week. Jaron Ziegler, a student at Lane Tech High School on the North Side , was reported missing from the area of 55th Street and South Dorchester Avenue on the South Side on July 28, police said in a missing persons alert.
16-Year-Old Girl Missing
Chicago – A 16-year-old girl has been missing from the Southwest Side Marquette Park neighborhood since late April. Yarethsi Gutierrez was last seen April 29 in the 6300 block of South Francisco Avenue, according to a missing person alert from Wentworth Area detectives.
Autistic Street Vendor Missing
Chicago – James Malloy, a street vendor who is also autistic, has been missing since last week from the Southwest Side. Malloy, 20, was last seen on July 20 in the 4300 block of West 47th Street, according to a missing person alert from Wentworth Area detectives.

Off-duty cop fires shots at armed robbery suspects
CHICAGO (CHICAGOPRESSRELEASE.COM) — An off-duty Chicago Police officer fired shots at three suspects who ordered the officer out of a vehicle at gunpoint early Thursday in an attempted armed robbery on the South Side. Police fired shots in the 5600 block of South Green Street about 1:30 a.m., according to News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines, who said no one was struck.
