‘Big Hurt’ Frank Thomas to retire from baseball
CHICAGO — After 16 seasons with the White Sox and 19 in the majors, slugger Frank Thomas is calling it quits.Thomas, 41, is scheduled to hold a news conference at noon to announce his retirement.
Thomas was the seventh overall pick by the White Sox in 1989, and made his Major League debut in August 1990. He went on to win consecutive MVP awards in 1993 and 1994. Full Press Release…
